Our most produced show is back! The Sisters of Hoboken have to get those nuns
out of the freezer by putting on a show. Non-stop laughter at the convent!

PAT TWEED (Sister Mary Regina) is a true veteran of Oklahoma City theatre. She has appeared in over 25 Jewel Box productions such as Same Time, Next Year, Chicago, Mame and Steel Magnolias. Favorite Carpenter Square shows include Best Little Whorehouse..., Company and ..Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean. A very special thanks to Jewel Box and its patrons for asking the Sisters of Hoboken back! Bless you!

FRANCENE THOMAS (Sister Mary Hubert) first appeared on our stage as Bloody Mary in a benefit of South Pacific, her first time on any stage, quickly followed by this show as the original Sister Hubert in 1990. A 26-year police Service Technician, Francene is the Director of the youth choir at the Greater Zion Baptist Church, and a member of the Gospel Music Workshop of America.
HEATHER OLIVE (Sister Robert Anne) was associate producer of the documentary “Beyond the Gates”, and worked as associate producer on Behind the Scenes for the film “End of the Spear.” She has appeared in our productions of West Side Story, Follies and Annie Get Your Gun, to name a few, and several Lyric productions. Heather is Mom and wife to Stan, Dalton, and Payton.
MARY FREEH (Sister Mary Amnesia) has designed costumes for Jewel Box and most area theatres, colleges and universities. She is a member of two professional singing groups, The Sisters of Swing and The Back Row. An 8th grade teacher of music at Trinity School, she is also Assistant Director of Music at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church. Mary has the distinction of winning two Gem Awards as Amnesia in both Nunsense and Nuncrackers.
ALEX HALL (Sister Mary Leo) made her Jewel Box debut as Laurey in Oklahoma! last season. At Poteet Theatre she was Winnifred in Once Upon A Mattress and
Nora in Carpenter Square’s Brighton Beach Memoirs. Alex would like to tell the cast, “It has been so much fun! Thank you, and I love you all!” The multi-talented Alex is the only new cast member to the convent and is welcomed ~ if she behaves.

CHUCK TWEED (Director) has been Production Director for 30 years. Boy, is he tired! He has 9 Best Play Gems (2 for Nunsense) and 3 Best Actor Awards. He was a drama teacher for 27 years and has appeared with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic for Yuletide with Susan Powell and narrated Peter and the Wolf. He is also Artistic Director of Summerstock in Edmond during the summer. He is most appreciative for everyone who has worked hard to help Jewel Box Theatre get to this momentous anniversary! Bravo! (PS: I love these nuns!!)
JAMES GORDON (Stage Manager) stage managed the Gem Award-winning Tuesdays With Morrie as well as last season’s Someone to Love. A past Volunteer of the Year, he has been on stage in such shows as South Pacific, 1776, Dames at Sea, The Sound of Music and The Unsinkable Molly Brown.
JANA HESTER (Props) heads both the season selection committee and the Gem Awards banquet. She came to Jewel Box in 1985 doing props for Chicago and has
since directed or assistant directed with Chuck for many of his shows. Jana joined the theatre’s Board of Advisors in 1990 and serves on many committees. She is a recipient of the 1992 Mary Wilbur Backstage Award.
MARY FREEH, GARRETT JOHNSTON, FRANK YOUNGBLOOD (Costumes) The efforts of this tried-and-true trinity of tailors can be seen all over the country at Six Flags Amusement Parks and at Oklahoma City’s Frontier City, as well as costuming educational, regional, and community theatres in Oklahoma and Texas, memory quilts, dance recital costumes, altar clothes, and bridal party sewing. “As you sew, so shall you rip.”
